Police ask for help in finding 14-year-old runaway

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The Southern Illinois University Carbondale Department of Public Safety is seeking help in finding a 14-year-old West Frankfort boy who ran away from the Touch of Nature Environmental Center.



Ian J. Morgan was last seen at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, south of Devils Kitchen Lake on Wolf Creek Road, south of Carbondale. Ian is described as 5 feet, 3 inches tall, 104 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a gray shirt, green fleece pullover and dark pants.

Ian was reported missing to SIUC police at 3:17 p.m. Thursday.

Spectrum Wilderness is an innovative, holistic approach to learning, designed for teens on the verge of serious trouble in school, at home, or in the community. The program uses wilderness environment and activities for participants to learn more responsible behavior by trying something new and coping with psychologically stressful situations.
