SIUC offering ballroom dance classes
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- If you feel the need to unleash your inner Fred Astaire or Ginger Rogers, sign up for ballroom dance lessons at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
Two sessions are available this fall. The first session meets Wednesdays, Sept. 1 through Oct. 6. Beginners, who will learn the rumba, cha-cha and swing, meet 6:30 to 8 p.m. Intermediates, who will perfect the foxtrot, waltz and tango, meet 8 to 9:30 p.m.
In the second session beginning Wednesday, Oct. 13, beginners will learn the foxtrot, waltz and tango and intermediates will cover rumba, cha-cha and swing. The session concludes Nov. 17.
