Jackson County alumni to host annual barbecue
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Alumni of Southern Illinois University Carbondale -- living in the Jackson County area -- are invited to a barbecue dinner followed by a free outdoor concert Thursday, July 22, in Carbondale.
Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. at the Mississippi Flyway (1925 W. Main St.), in the far west end of the Murdale Shopping Center.
After the meal, members of the group will trek to Turley Park for a 7 p.m. outdoor concert by the band Captain Soularcat, which plays Southern-rock.
Cost of the meal is $10. Reserve your place today by calling the SIU Alumni Association at 618/453-2408. Reservations will be accepted through Monday, July 19.
The Jackson County Chapter of the SIU Alumni Association is hosting the dinner.
