Fortune, a first-year doctoral student from Oklahoma City, Joseph J. Madej, a sophomore in accounting from Downers Grove; and Joseph Szubrynch, a freshman in mathematics from Oak Lawn.

Fortune placed second in the singles competition, while Szubrynch placed fifth. Fortune and Frazier won Academic All-American awards.
