CASA dean candidate to visit campus April 19-20

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The third of four finalists for dean of the College of Applied Sciences and Arts will visit Southern Illinois University Carbondale next week.

Mary R. Sumner, associate dean of the School of Business at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, will interview and participate in candidate presentations and forums open to the campus community Monday and Tuesday, April 19 and April 20.

Sumner's presentation and open forums are Tuesday, April 20, in the Hiram H. Lesar Law Building Auditorium. She will discuss "The Future of Success," at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. One-hour open forums are at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

The other finalists are Dr. Thomas M. Hassell, professor in the College of Health Professions, Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff; Charles A. Pinder, chairman of the Department of Technology at Northern Kentucky University; and Paul D. Sarvela, interim dean of SIUC's College of Applied Sciences and Arts.

Hassell visited the campus April 8-9; Pinder's visit was April 12-13. Sarvela's visit is set for Monday and Tuesday, April 26-27.
