Class ring ceremony set for Friday, April
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Chancellor Walter V. Wendler and the Southern Illinois University Alumni Association will host a Class Ring Presentation Ceremony on Friday, April 2.
The Chancellor and members of the Alumni Association will present students with their personalized class rings beginning at 6 p.m. in the Student Center Auditorium. A reception will follow at approximately 6:45 p.m. in the International Lounge.
After the formal activities, students and campus administrators will be available for interviews by members of the media.
Families, friends and University dignitaries are invited and may accompany ring recipients.
University students and alumni designed the exclusive class ring three years ago.
Only alumni and students who have achieved junior status are eligible to wear the only official "SIU Class Ring."
