School of Music sets free recitals

by K.C. Jaehnig

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Proving once again that you can get something for nothing, Southern Illinois University Carbondale's School of Music will present a number of free recitals this semester. Except where noted, they will take place in the Old Baptist Foundation Recital Hall northwest of the University Museum.

Expanding cultural outreach programs is among the goals of Southern at 150, the blueprint for the development of the University by the time it celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2019.

Times and dates can change; check with the school at 618/536-8742 before you go. Here's what you can expect to hear.
