Discounted tickets available for concert

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Current and new members of the Southern Illinois University Alumni Association may receive discounted tickets to hear jazz singer Banu Gibson with the Southern Illinois Symphony Orchestra at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, at Shryock Auditorium.

Alumni members in good standing may purchase seats for $16 each, or $3 less than the regular show price.

Association members also can attend a pre-concert dinner from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Old Main Room of the SIUC Student Center. The menu will include flank steak with merlot sauce, cheesy potatoes, tossed salad, green beans, dinner rolls and white velvet cake with strawberries. Dinner costs $12.

Members must make reservations by Tuesday, Jan. 20, to take advantage of the special offer.

Non-members may take advantage of this deal by joining the Alumni Association. Annual dues are $40 for alumni and friends, $15 for students. Lifetime memberships are $500, with installment plans available.
